We get it. We’re dog people too—
And not just in the casual, “we love dogs” kind of way.
We mean really love them. The kind of love that rewires your routine, reroutes your travel plans, and reshapes your entire sense of home.
That’s why we built Lucky N Alaska, for the kind of care we would want for our own dogs: grounded, relationship-based, and rooted in the rhythms of real life.
We believe in the power of pack life—where dogs live as part of a family, not caged or isolated. When your dog stays with us, they’re folded into our home, our routine, and our hearts.
And when traditional boarding is the best fit for a dog? We believe it should happen with intention and gentleness—never as a default.

This isn’t just pet care. It’s personal. We’re more than a place to leave your dog—we’re an extension of your family. Whether you’re dropping them off or just texting for an update, we’re here to support both of you.
Because your dog is our family—and you are too.
CORE VALUES
Our Story
Lucky N Alaska started with a dog named Rex, a house I couldn’t afford, and a dream that refused to let go.
I’m Ginger—founder of Lucky N Alaska—and I’ve loved animals my whole life.
My first job was cleaning dog kennels. Years later, after going through a divorce, I found myself standing in a home I had fallen in love with but couldn’t see a clear path to afford.
I tried finding a job that could make the numbers work, but none of it fit—until I came back to what always had: dogs.
Lucky, our namesake dog, back in the day!
Becoming Lucky N Alaska
Dog Vaca, a now-retired platform before Rover existed, was where I found my way back. Rex was my first guest in August. By Christmas, the house was full of paws, love, and purpose.
I didn’t want to just be a dog sitter. I wanted to create something bigger. So I built a home-based business around connection—where dogs could experience real pack life, and where owners felt seen, heard, and supported.
Over time, I added systems and support: a referral network, help from a vet tech neighbor, and the tools we still use today.
Today, Lucky N Alaska is a family-run business operated out of my Anchorage home, with my two adult children by my side. We offer more than pet care—we offer second chances, true belonging, and whole-hearted support.
From continued education in holistic healing to resources like Be Your Own Vet and Healing Touch for Animals, we’re here to give both dogs and their people the kind of care that’s rarely found in standard pet services.
